Niousha Kiarashi is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves across moving-image,  photography, sculpture, installation, sound, and performance. Working through research, experimentation, and material processes, their work explores the relationships between human experience, ecological systems, and other forces that shape our environments.

Drawing from ideas in ecology, biology, philosophy, mathematics, Niousha examines connections between seemingly separate forms and structures. Their practice is particularly interested in networks, transformation, interdependence, and the ways natural and human-made systems influence one another.

Her work often develops through an experimental and research based process in which materials, media and science become active participants in the making. Images, objects, sounds, and physical environments are combined to create installations and moving-image works that invite viewers to consider the quantumness of our consciousness, perception,the micro and macrocosm of our existence and the complex relationships between humans and the more-than-human world.

Niousha Kiarashi holds an MFA in Integrated Practices from Pratt Institute and has exhibited and presented work in New York and internationally. Her practice also extends into education and community engagement, where she develops experimental art-based learning experiences for children and young audiences.

She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
